We have been lucky enough to have known Nicole Verdon from Whiskers and Paws for a few years now. She has taken care of our three cats on severaloccasions while we were out of town.
Nicole is a very dependable and professional individual with a big hear for animals. She has consistently provided care for our animals in a timely andreliable fashion. Written reports of our animals are always provided while we are away and we are always delighted to return home to happy and healthy animals.
Nicole has even gone above and beyond her duties by taking the time to get to know our most anxious cat who rarely comes out of hiding. She has alsopurchased a few cat toys during our latest Christmas trip.
We highly recommend the services of Whiskers and Paws for those who want great care for their pets at a very reasonable price.

Tommy has been one of Nicole's walking buddies for almost three years. He loves going on walks with her and is always happy to see Nicole come pick him up because he knows he is in for a fun time with her and the rest of the dogs. The fact that Nicole takes Tommy for proper walks with a controlled number of dogs is reassuring and very appreciated. We also love all the pictures of the dogs she takes on her walks and shares with the group. We use Nicole as a dogsitter when we go on vacation and we know that Tommy is treated as well in Nicole's house as he is in ours. I can't say enough good things about Nicole. I had a very bad dog walker once, who lost my dog (for five days!). And so I did a lot of research before I found her. She treats my dog as her own and we think of Nicole as part of our extended family... I've referred several people to her, including a few work colleagues, and they're all delighted. She'll never let you down (that's not even an issue). And she's a very good person. Your dog is in very safe hands with Nicole.

In one word, Nicole is FANTASTIC. She has walked our 2 year old goldendoodle Max since he was 6 months old. She has never cancelled a day and demonstrates a level of responsibility and care for her dogs that is quite unexpected from a dogwalker. She really loves and cares for the dogs.
We have never had any issues with Nicole and Max always comes back happy and clean (Nichole will often take the extra 10 minutes to wash him down with the hose in the summer if he is muddy!!). Max also boards with Nicole when we are away and again we have never had any issues.
Max LOVES Nicole and his tail wags happily everytime she comes to the door and at the sight of the Doggie Van that Nicole uses (many dog walkers use cars and the dogs are crammed into the back), he gets very excited with anticipation. I highly recommend Nicole and do not think you could get better service for the price with another dog walker.

Five years ago, we turned to Nicole to help us raise Merlot, our spirited Welsh terrier. The wonderful assistance that Nicole has been providing ever since is simply invaluable. Nicole clearly loves and respects animals, and they sure have the same feelings towards her. From the daily visits that she conducted when Merlot was a puppy, to the walks at the park and the stay over when we travel, we know that these are always treats that Merlot is enjoying immensely. Nicole has been walking Kadence for over three years and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of her services. Her dedication and love of dogs is readily apparent and there is no better testament to her work than the excitement that Kadence displays when Nicole comes to the door every day. Nicole takes the dogs to a variety of different places, including swimming some days in the summer, and she takes great care to ensure that the dogs arrive back home safe and sound (and tired as well!). She also does a number of extra things for the dogs and owners that are “beyond the call of duty” such as providing us with pictures of the dogs on the Internet during their outings.

By way of background, I moved to Ottawa and began a search for a dog walker. I am a nervous dog person in that I worry a lot about how my dog is doing. Nicole came highly recommended by an individual who's dog had been left behind in a park by a previous walker and was lost for several days. After that, she undertook extensive interviews and settled on Nicole as the best dog walker in Ottawa and I have to agree.
My dog’s name is Nellie and she’s a high energy 2 year old mini Australian shepherd. She is walked daily by Nicole, spends many nights per week at her home for overnight stays and has stayed with her while I have traveled on business for longer periods. Nellie does great with Nicole and the few times I have seen them together, you can tell they have great affection for each other. Nicole works hard to ensure her dogs all get along and I have never experienced any issue of that kind. Nicole sends photos regularly, which is great.
Nicole herself is incredibly flexible and helpful. She does all she can to accommodate my schedule. She does like things to be organized and she likes to have notice but she is fair with me the same way. We were given 2 months notice around her summer vacation and she helped find interim walkers for those who needed them.
In terms of reliability, she has never missed a day in about the 2 years we have worked together. She loves her dogs and acts only in their best interest. She has let me know of concerns as they come up. Her billing is accurate and the electronic payment system works great.
I honestly would tell if I had a concern but I cannot think of one to offer.

Nicole Verdon has looked after my little dog Sadie in her home several times in the last 2 years. I am very protective of my little girl and I will only leave her with someone I trust 100% and I would definitely not put her in a kennel. Nicole provides a stress-free, loving, home environment for Sadie and I feel completely confident that she is well taken care of while I am away. There are very few people (including family) that I would leave my Sadie with and Nicole is definitely my first choice. It is without hesitation that I highly recommend Nicole to anyone wishing to board their furry family member.

Because of her health issues, I was reluctant to let my dog Peanut out of my sight. As a result, I rarely went away overnight; and when I did, I worried. This changed when I met Nicole. Peanut had such a wonderful time with Nicole and was so well cared for that I finally relaxed when I was away. Nicole attended to all of Peanut's medical needs (medications at various times and a special diet) and sent me updates about how Peanut was doing.
Nicole has a lovely home and backyard where you can feel comfortable leaving your pet. It really is a home away from home. Most importantly, though, Nicole is very professional, reliable, and good at what she does. She is more than that though-- a lovely person who really cares for her clients and always goes the extra mile.
For several years, Nicole also walked my dog Peanut when I was at work. It was only because I moved far outside of her area of service that we stopped the walks. Losing her was a real disappointment. When Peanut went on daily outings with Nicole, she got a real work-out. I could tell because she was relaxed and tired when I returned home.
I think I speak for both me and Peanut when I say that Nicole means a lot to us and we're grateful to have her in our lives.

We have been happy clients of Whiskers and Paws for eight months. Our dogs, Pinot and Sanja, love going out for long walks with their "second pack" and they always come back happy. Nicole, and her partner in crime, Gerry, have become a valued part of our dogs’ lives. Nicole obviously dotes on her clients’ dogs, giving them great walks in every season and in all of Ottawa’s various weather conditions. She is very dedicated and reliable. Nicole has also provided us with top notch dog-sitting services when we have been away on vacation. We rest easy knowing that our dogs are in such capable hands.

Dear Pet Owners,
I met Nicole Verdon not long after I adopted my cat, Jarvis, from the Humane Society. He went to the Humane Society as a stray, and I suspect his previous owners had abandoned him; he’s quite a clingy cat and needs a lot of attention and time with people. As such, I was quite nervous to leave him alone for the first time. However, Nicole was happy to come and spend half an hour with him twice a day. She fed him, brushed him, and played with him. When I came home from my vacation, Jarvis looked fantastic and very well cared for.
I have used Nicole’s services several times since this first visit. Each time I come home, I could swear Jarvis looks healthier and happier than when I left! Nicole is dependable and truly loves animals. You can rest assured your pet will be in good hands with Nicole.
