Whiskers and Paws is an Insured and Bonded company who offers a fully bilingual pet sitting and dogwalking service catering to all sorts of pets, birds and critters. We provide you with flexible pet sitting services to accommodate your needs and those of your pet(s), therefore our rates quoted on the price pages might differ depending on the customized services that you might request. Our goal is to create a pet sitting program where, when you are away and leaving your pet behind, it is comfortably loved and cared for with the minimal stress. Whiskers and Paws’ goal is to give your pet, whether young or old, a holiday away from home.

We meet with all prospective clients and their pets at their home before the first pet sitting service occurs. During this meeting we discuss with the client the pet’s personality and temperament so that we can determine which service is best suited for it. This should not take more than half an hour, at a minimal fee of ($15.00 plus GST) depending on the location. We also make an initial contact with your pet to ensure that we can get along so that we can provide you with an excellent pet sitting service. Please note that if for a reason, your pet and Whiskers and Paws do not feel at all comfortable with each other, and that we feel that we cannot provide the pet sitting services that we offer due to that fact, then we will let you know and refer you to another agency.

Before this initial meeting, Whiskers and Paws will email our potential clients, pet sitting forms to be completed, which asks various questions about the pet’s medical history, training, and behavioral patterns, or what needs to be discussed in order to implement the pet sitting care and services in the best possible way. This form also asks for the client’s home, work and cell phone number, as well as the name of a backup contact person. Before your departure a request form can be filled out for the dates whn you would need Whiskers and Paws to care for your pet(s). This will ensure that your pet(s) will be appropriately cared for on the right days.

For all pet sitting services pertaining to visits, walks, sitting etc., Whiskers and Paws clients shall provide us with 2 house keys, in case of a lock out or a garage code to access your home. For these reasons we are bonded and insured. The keys are unidentifiable to any outside person, and are kept safely with us in a safety deposit box and never provided to anyone.

Whiskers and Paws is run solely by Nicole Verdon and the same person or a delegated person will care for your dog every day of the service required. If you sign up for our pet sitting services, you can be assured that I/and or the person delegated, will treat your dog as if it was our own, with the utmost care and protection. We are always readily available for comments or questions.

TYPES OF SERVICES OFFERED 

These are some of the services that Whiskers and Paws offers:

• Puppy visits, dog visits weekly and weekends
• Dogwalking during the day, dogwalking during the evening and weekends. (ex. If you would like to go home after work some evenings due to appointments, dinners etc. we can offer to visit your dog and feed him and give him a walk, price varies depending on location, type of service etc.)
• Housesitting, watering of plants, bringing mail in, some shovelling at an extra cost if house visiting in the winter.
  
• Cat and dog medical care, insulin injections and all other types of medication
• Pet taxi to and from groomer, airports and all other areas
• Boarding as part of family for dogs and small critters
• Dog and cat cargo shipping to other parts of the countryDog and cat cargot shipping to other parts of the country

 SPECIFIC PROCEDURES WITH ALARM SYSTEMS 

Certain procedures are in place pertaining to owners who have alarm systems. These should be discussed with Whiskers and Paws when employing them to care for your animals. Due to many home visits on a daily basis, Whiskers and Paws will ask you to follow certain procedures before your departure. All alarm systems are able to carry more than one code. Whiskers and Paws will give you their own code and password. You will need to notify your alarm company that someone will be coming to care for your pets and give them the code and password that I will give you.

If for any reason, an alarm is set, the alarm company when called at your place will be given the name of the company, code and password. All should be fine. Please note that Whiskers and Paws is not responsible for your alarm system at any given time. With procedures in place everything should be OK.
